Today in class we looked at Integration on the Syllabus. A handout "Notes on Integration in the Syllabus" was given (click here corrected version). We then proceeded to look at the 2012 LCHL Integration parts a and b - class notes uploaded (click here). HW is to look over these notes and try 2011 Integration Question Note the 'Integration' page on this website gathers all summary notes, syllabus, class examples and past paper questions and examples. |

Today in class we finished the probability part 1 examples.
A handout was given of the recent Irish Times Education Supplement on HL LC Maths written by Aidan Roantree. HW is to read this carefully and consider your Mock revision in the light of it. Tomorrow we will discuss any questions arising from the revision supplement and then continue with Probability part 2 revision - available in yesterdays blog (Probability Revision -28-1-2013) It was decided that the class would prefer not to attempt any new material between now and the Mock exams - instead focus on revision and exam preparation.
This week we will continue with our revision of Probability which we started last Monday 21 January.
To facilitate revision I have prepared the following Probability Handouts
Please bring exam papers to tomorrow's class. I will be away and would like you to continue with complex number questions from the papers.
Today in class we looked at the syllabus - which can be viewed in the complex numbers page of this website - and proceed to look at three particular types of complex number questions mentioned therein:
HW is to revise notes and use deMoivre's theorem to find identities for Sin3A, Cos2A and Sin2A. Class notes, HW identities and solutions are uploaded (click here) Today we looked at using de Moivre's theorem to get the roots of a complex number to a certain power.
e.g. solve z^3 = 1 (i.e. 'find the third root of unity?') Class notes uploaded (click here) HW - look over notes and continue with Probability worksheet.
